摘要
Model Predictive Control (MPC) has been proved to be a powerful control algorithm in power electronics converters. However, it requires a large number of calculations which needs higher computational resources and faster control rate in comparison with the traditional control techniques such as Proportional Integral (PI). In this paper, a new finite - control - set model-predictive control (FCS-MPC) method for three-level neutral-point- clamped (3L-NPC) converter is presented. The proposed control scheme takes advantages of significantly mitigating computation burden thank to the reduction of switching state space vector combination. The proposed control method is theoretically analyzed and simulated using MATLAB/Simulink with fixed-step 10 mu s sampling time. The simulation results demonstrate the advantages of the proposed control algorithms with fast response and lower switching states, especially at low modulation index while maintaining all the advantages of MPC such as multiple objectives control, small steady state error and achieving high power quality of the converter.
