摘要
The paper presents a computational model for the numerical study of the mechanical behavior of ceramics with an explicit account of its internal structure, namely, cylindrical pores differently oriented in space. The model utilizes the movable cellular automaton method for modeling deformation and fracture as dynamic processes occurring in the material under loading. We model uniaxial compression of several representative 3D cubic specimens with an explicit account of pores of the same size but with a unique position and orientation in space. As a result, we get the average values of Young's modulus, Poisson's ratio, and strength, as well as the parameters of the Weibull distribution of these properties of the model material. The analysis of the modeling results shows that the minimum values of mechanical properties is exhibited by the specimens with all cylindrical pores inclined at the angle of 45 degrees to the loading direction. The randomization of the elongated pore orientation leads to higher mechanical properties.
