摘要
There are thousands of agents that are added to the food we consume and the pharmaceuticals we ingest. Fortunately, only a small number have been associated with hypersensitivity reactions. This article examines these agents. Background information concerning these chemicals and the mechanisms by which they may provoke reactions are discussed. The association between these agents and urticarial and asthmatic reactions is discussed.
