摘要
Aim of this paper is to evaluate the ocular surface temperature, temperature distribution and entropy of the normal subject with and without contact lens. In this study, twelve subjects underwent two rounds of recording for their Ocular Surface Temperature (OST) in a room with controlled room temperature. The technique employed has successfully proved that the OST was measured using infrared images. The temperature distribution and temperature pattern of the eye was evaluated using the thermograms of the eye. The cornea was first be extracted from the infrared images of the eye using image processing algorithms. The temperature distribution was obtained by finding the center line temperature across the cornea, and the entropy of infrared images of the cornea was estimated. We found that, the temperature decreases when the subject wears the contact lens, and the temperature around the center of the eye has the lowest value. The entropy increases in the presence of contact lens. The result of this study will help the researchers/doctors to understand temperature distribution of the cornea, with and without contact lens. It can help the researchers in designing various types of contact lenses.
