摘要
Removal of lignin, an aromatic polymer associated with cell-plant polysaccharides from raw fibrous material is a fundamental process in pulp and paper industry. The classical processes of delignification produce toxic waste, products polluting the environment. Implementation of any biological treatment sequence into the classical bleaching sequences has produced very encouraging results, promising a significant reduction and potential elimination of molecular chlorine. The seed hairs from Asclepias syriaca are considered a waste material with a composition permitting obtainment of pulp with papermaking properties. After boiling with distilled water, an enzymatic treatment was apllied, using CARTHAZYME HS, which contributes to cleavage of the hemicellulose-lignin linkages, thus improving accessibility and efficiency of the chemicals used in the bleaching processes.
