This paper starts questioning the traditional position that points to Antigone as a heroine, and as an unconditional defender of the eternal laws. Could it be said that she is? And, even more, could we say that Antigone acts selflessly? The fact that she is oriented towards love, as revealed in verse 523, as well as the constant proclamation of deathwish and the reunion in Hades with her family, especially with Polyneices, leads us to cast suspicion on the heroic assertion, and guides our argument, on the contrary, to an issue that has not been given so much relevance: her state of alpha'phi rho omicron sigma'upsilon v eta.
