摘要：
On the basis of the applicability and necessity analysis of using GIS in highway traffic safety, this paper summarized the state-of-the-art of the application of GIS in highway traffic safety research. Then the application of the spatial analysis technology of GIS in Micro-Safety Assessment implemented in highway design phase and operation phase in China was detailed expounded. And the concepts and design ideas of the technical system for GIS-based preventative maintenance of highway traffic safety facilities in China was also put forward. Moreover, the GIS-based management information system of highway traffic safety facilities was developed.
