Construction of Routing Tree for Centralized Scheduling in IEEE 802.16 Mesh Networks

摘要
The IEEE 802.16 WiMax mesh network is one of the most promising techniques for providing the last-mile broadband wireless access. According to the IEEE 802.16 specification, a centralized scheduling algorithm based on the pre-constructed routing tree can be used to minimize the total transmission time for all traffic flows. This paper presents a novel routing tree construction algorithm for the centralized scheduling in the WiMax mesh network with single channel single transceiver nodes. Numeric results show that the proposed algorithm compared to existing suboptimal solutions achieves the near optimal system performance in terms of the scheduling length.
