摘要
The effect of cigarette smoking (CS) on short-term-variation (STV) of fetal heart rate (FHR), analyzed by a computerized system (Oxford 8002) was studied in fifteen healthy pregnant women. STV readings were performed 5, 4 and 5 times before, during and after CS. Before CS a non-significant difference was found between STV values. When compared the last STV value before CS with STV values during CS, there was no statiscal difference, as well as the first value after CS. Another hand, a significant difference (p<0.05) was found between other STV values after CS, when a decrease was observed. Cigarette smoking affect short-term-variation of FHR when monitorized by a computerized system.
