摘要
The convective flow occuring in a fluid layer, due to a horizontal temperature gradient and controled by a vertical magnetic field, is studied. The fluid, enclosed in a rectangular cavity, is a conductive liquid metal with a Prandtl number assumed to be: small. Velocity, temperature and electric potential are calculated analytically, With these solutions, the effect of lateral confinement and magnetic field intensity on linear stability thresholds is studied analytically and numerically.
