Thermal visbreaking of heavy oil from the Nigerian tar sand

摘要：
Mild thermal visbreaking of heavy oil from the Nigerian tar sand was conducted at several temperatures for different lengths of time in the laboratory. The viscosity of the oil was found to reduce with thermal treatment. The reduction in viscosity was investigated deterministically in relation to the changes in the chemical composition of the oil after the mild thermal treatment. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd.
