摘要：

This paper reveals the latest development trend of public libraries in developed societies through the study of the concept of small and medium-sized libraries in the United States, predicts the possible development of small and medium-sized libraries under the perspective of rapid urbanization and community-based services. The direction is to break the rigid traditional library design concept and model, and to explore the construction of library construction theory suitable for China's national conditions.
