摘要：
This study examines the applicability of the organizational life cycle stages model to the study of pay plan design effectiveness and compares the usefulness of the two models in relating pay plan design to firm performance. Results of 130 responding business units indicated that the environmental uncertainty framework to be more useful than the organizational life cycle model for designing pay plans which related to desired firm performance.
