摘要
In the current study, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were bio-fabricated with the help of aqueous silver nitrate and green apple (Malus Domestica) extract as a precursor and reducing agent, respectively. The change in the color of the solution from no color to dark-brownish signifies the formation of AgNPs. Furthermore, the existence of silver crystallites was confirmed by the X-ray diffraction pattern. In addition, the Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) as well as Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) evaluated the sizes of formed AgNPs to be in the average of 30.25 +/- 5.26 nm. Moreover, UV-vis spectroscopy (UV-Vis spectroscopy) and Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy confirmed the presence of ethylene groups acting as capping as well as reducing agent in the synthesis of AgNPs. The assay of In vitro cytotoxicity determined that the AgNPs at lower concentration exhibited negligible cytotoxicity. In addition, with the help of Agar Diffusion method, the antimicrobial activity of the formed AgNPs was evaluated againstEscherichia colias well asStaphylococcus aureus. The range of inhibition signified that the AgNPs has much greater antibacterial activity than that of the only plant extract, which further gained strength with an increase in the content of AgNPs. Overall, these findings recommend that the AgNPs exhibit strong capabilities for utilizing as a material of wound dressing during perioperative period in nursing care.
