Analysis of the Determinants of Performance in Governmental Organizations

摘要
This study explores the determinants of performance in governmental organizations. The results of the primary survey data indicate that socioeconomic, organizational and managerial, as well as individual factors have significant influences on the organizational performance. Among them, managerial factors are the most powerful predictor. Those public- and employee-oriented governmental organizations oriented are proven to be more effective. And governmental organization with clearer goals, less procedure constraints has higher levels of organizational performance. The results also highlight the role of socioeconomic and individual factors. Governmental organizations located in the area of higher new economic index usually have higher levels of performance. Employees' levels of public service motivation have a significant positive relationship with organizational performance. Strengthening the Culture of public interest, improving organizational management, and enhancing employees' public service motivation may be the efficient ways to improve the performance in governmental organizations.
