Faculty development and support needs of nurse practitioner faculty

摘要
A nationwide convenience sample of nurse practitioner faculty (N = 128) responding to a survey indicated statistically significant disparity between ideal and actual faculty support and faculty development structures and processes in their current employment. Faculty practice, salary, and colleague understanding of the practitioner faculty's clinical role are some of the areas that their responses indicate merit consideration by administrators seeking to maintain high-quality nurse practitioner faculty.
