Beyond concordancing: Multiple affordances of corpora in university language degrees

摘要
Corpora have multiple uses for undergraduate students, including for translation. This paper explores how distance students cope with discovering corpora for this purpose for the first time. An analysis of their on-line exam papers reveals surprising complexity in their uses, leading to generally successful outcomes. Questionnaires show they lack confidence in using corpora, but see the relevance to this and other fields of study. (c) 2012 Published by Elsevier B.V.
