Applicability of the Big Data Solution to Support Decision-Making in Slovak Enterprises

The steady development in the area of information and communication technologies has caused an increase in the amount of generated data. The year-on-year increase of data is 40 to 50% (Levarsky, 2014). The largest source of data at present is unstructured data generated in the internal and external environment of enterprises. This phenomenon mainly results from the introduction of new technological solutions in enterprises, but also from the expansion of the Internet network and the availability of various technological devices for common users. These users are mainly people or potential customers. Work with these diverse data in and around the enterprises using the Big Data solution can provide significant information value to improve the decision-making processes of the enterprise managers. The article discusses the applicability of the Big Data solution to support company decision making of enterprises in Slovakia.
