摘要
One very important point that must be studied to understand language and action control is how humans understand the spatial relationships between objects using spatial terms. Previous studies have reported that an extra object (a distractor), other than the reference and located objects influences the apprehension of spatial terms. This study examined whether the texture pattern of the distractor influences the degree of the distraction effect and how we apprehend a spatial term when there is a distractor in an observed scene experimentally. The results showed that the texture pattern of the distractor has a limited effect on the degree of the distraction effect and that the distractor can be recognized as a reference object or a trigger that activates the possible application of other spatial terms and may cause the distraction effect.
