Influence of Higher Education on Regional Innovation-An Empirical Study Based on Spatial Econometrics Measured by China Provincial Data

摘要
In this paper, we explored regional higher education and innovation data of China from 2009 to 2013 years, using exploratory spatial data analysis (ESDA) to analyze spatial relevance of higher education and regional innovation in China; while the use of spatial regression methods, including spatial lag model (SLM) and spatial error model (SEM), estimate the impact of higher education on technological innovation. It turns out that the size of higher education and regional innovation are presented positive spatial correlation, and most provinces showing low-low spatial cluster model; spatial regression model results show that higher education and the provincial technological innovation activities has a significant positive correlation and inter-regional spatial spillover effect is significant. However, the contribution of higher education to regional innovation decreased year by year.
