摘要
Calcium silicate ceramics are intended to apply as implant materials, usually for bone substitution. The focus of the present work is to understand correlations in the chemical composition (various catalysts) solubility (in water and in SBF) mechanical properties (hardness) triangle of calcium silicate ceramic materials. The present work studies the properties of the sol-gel synthesized ceramics regarding biomedical applications. The 1 and 10 mole ratio of ammonia catalysis resulted in the best bulk ceramics with good mechanical strength, similar porosity to bone and low solubility.
