SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT - AN URGENT NEED FOR ROMANIA

Sustainable development means an evolution of the economic activity, characterized trough the satisfaction of the present generations needs without diminishing the possibilities of the future generations to satisfy their own needs. The sustainable development implies the accomplishment of certain objectives like: preserving the natural systems capacity to provide raw materials and energy and to absorb toxic wastes caused by the production of economic goods; increasing the environment's endurance; increasing the quantity and quality of the usable natural resources; diminishing the technological impact on the environment; increasing the efficiency of using the natural resources; increasing the living standards.
