An approach to the determinants of individual Social Capital in Spain

In this work, we analyze the determinants of individual social Capital, as measured by participation in associations and in various forms of collective action. the survey of Quality of life at Work provides information that allows us to evaluate the degree to which certain social, demographic, and economic variables influence individuals in creating types of social capital, that is, in their propensity to join associations and to undertake certain collective actions. the results show the importance of the middle class, i.e. individuals with job stability, acceptable family income, good occupations, and good levels of training, whose interest in public affairs is conducive to the creation of social Capital.
