摘要
Based on a constructivist theoretical framework, this paper describes an e-mail collaborative program between pre-service teachers and fourth and fifth graders. the use of electronic mail as a,means to enhance literacy learning has the potential to contribute to the social nature of the reading and writing development of elementary students. The project focused on reading comprehension, vocabulary, and word recognition lessons that were designed by university students about literature that was selected by classroom teachers. As correspondences occurred informal social communication skills were also enhanced. The goals of the collaboration were discussed, sample lessons were given, and considerations for implementing such a project were recommended.
