Study the band gap properties of copper incorporated onto eggshell using UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy

摘要
Copper incorporated onto eggshell (ES) catalyst was synthesized via an electrochemical strategy with different CuO loading and the optical properties was analysed using UV-vis DRS. The characteristic reflectance band of CuO was observed at around 375 nm while the band gap energy value is 1.03 eV. Deposition CuO onto ES resulted appearance of new reflectance band at 505 nm. New reflectance band was shifted to 498 nm and band gap energy was reduced with increasing of CuO loading from 1 to 22 wt%. (C) 2019 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
