Aspects of Wine-Growing in the 18th and 19th Centuries in the Region of Crisana

Wine growing was one of the major occupations of the inhabitants of Cri ana, occupying an important place in their material and spiritual culture. During the 18th and the 19th centuries, winemaking in Crisana reached the pinnacle, being reflected in the cultural mindset of the inhabitants of this area. Its development was caused by several elements, the most important being the natural factors and the conditions offered by this area. However, these aspects would be dealt with in a different study. Instead, drawing on archive data, in the present study we seek to highlight the importance and the magnitude of wine-growing in several areas of Cri ana during the 18th and the 19th centuries.
