摘要
CBI refers to Content-Based Instruction, which has aroused great attention in language teaching at home and abroad. This experience and communication teaching methodology aims to combine language teaching and specilized knowledge teaching together to arouse students' interest in language learning and enhance the teaching and learning effect. It also provides authentic material to the students and gives them more opportunities to use the language more objectively in the real language environment. Business English teaching is the combination of business knowledge teaching and English-the language teaching, so it's important for us to find out the matching point between the two aspects. And the application of the CBI theory to Business English teaching will be one of the focuses of this paper. The following points will also be discussed and explored: the definition of CBI, the characteristics and significances of this teaching methodology, the specific approach to adopt CBI in Business English teaching, the principles of this model, the problesms and solutions during the study, the requirements and roles of teachers and students, test and assessment of CBI and so on.
