摘要
This paper presents the basic concept of data analysis used on a concrete application problem. The main problem field is to analyze historical data, obtained from financial statements of large amount of companies all over Slovak Republic. To carry out these analyses, OLAP techniques were used. Practical experiments were performed in selected open-source Business Intelligence (BI) solutions - Vanilla and SpagoBI. By the use of these solutions, there is a possibility of identifying important patterns and companies trends, by means of their future heading and other economical aspects. The novelty of the topic presented lies in the future possibility to use this kind of BI analyses as a part of decision support system (DSS) suited for an early warning system or system of recommended actions to prevent bankruptcy.
