New cooler - questions and answers

The PYROFLOOR (R) clinker cooler by KHD Humboldt Wedag features a completely new concept with much reduced maintenance costs, self regulating aeration and no more clinker riddling (Fig. 1). New solutions and major improvements of existing concepts were found in order to introduce a fresh new approach to clinker cooling. Within the scope. of the oral presentations at the IEEE 2005 in Kansas City/USA a general discussion about new developments in the field of the clinker cooler was presented in a "Clinker Cooler Panel". After short presentations, five different cooler manufacturers answered a wide range of questions. In the following contribution, the most important questions of the new PYROFLOOR (R) clinker cooler are summarized.
