The Kizilcaoren fluorite-barite-REE deposits related to Tertiary alkaline volcanics, Eskisehir, Turkey

The Kizilcaoren F-Ba-REE deposits with measured reserves:of over 0.4 million tons of 0.2 percent ThO2 and 4 million tons of approximately 0.3 percent Ce+La+Y are situated about 25 km south of Kizilcaoren, Eskisehir. Major ore minerals are fluorite, barite, and to a lesser extent, bastnasite. Brockite, fluocerite and monazite are accessory minerals. The mineralization is in close association with Tertiary alkaline volcanism which is linked to the final stage of the development of the Aegean Rift and mostly occurs in the form of hydrothermal veins in the elastic and pyroclastic rocks.
