The concept of a Generic Non Standard-specific Information Flow System (GNSIFS) has been discussed in a previous paper. The main feature of this system is that it can perform data exchange among a group of manufacturing systems regardless of the operating systems, standards being used by them. Further research in this system indicates that there are three main constituents required for its formation including Generic DataBase Management System (GDBMS), Generic Data Extraction System (GDES) and Generic Format Translator (GFT). In this paper, the description for these three constituents are covered.
