Application of Concurrent Engineering in Construction Industry

Concurrent engineering is a systematic approach to the integrated, concurrent design of products and the related design process. The approach has become an important means of improving quality of products, shorting development cycles, and reducing cost. The paper analyzes the traditional model of project management, searches for faults and problem's existing in it. Then analyzes the necessity and rationality of the application of the concurrent engineering to the project management combined the character of construction project. Based on it, the paper put forward a new creative management mode that the concurrent engineering theory has been adopt into project management.
