X-ray and ESE studies of lithium hydrazinium sulphate single crystals

X-ray and electron spin echo (ESE) experiments were performed on the lithium hydrazinium sulphate (LHS) single crystals to determine the changes of the crystal structure and the dynamics of the hydrazinium ions in the temperature range 4.2-300 K. The changes of the distances in the hydrazinium ion and the lattice parameters are presented, and connected with a dynamical disorder of the crystal structure. The observed two minima in the temperature dependence of the phase memory time T-M in gamma-irradiated LHS were assigned to librational motions of the N2H5+ ion (at 115 K) and to rotation of the -NH3+ end of the hydrazinium ion (at 175 K).
