Explores the strategic options for information and document delivery in the light of current cultural, academic, and technological contexts. Observes how the growth of digitised information has transformed the situation for LIS managers with a 'mixed economy' of provision. Describes and reviews 'just-in-case' collection building, 'just-in-time' document delivery and 'just-when-you-like' networked full text scenarios. Discusses parallels with other areas of Internet commerce. Draws on data acquired from the FIDDO project and other areas to inform the discussion.
