摘要
The aim of this research is to consider potential needs and best practices in social interventions with homeless women. Life stories were produced with women experiencing homelessness for this purpose. Professionals currently working with homeless women were also interviewed. The key findings show a need to apply the gender perspective during homelessness-related interventions, as women have different characteristics and life events from those of homeless men. Although homeless women in the most serious situations of homelessness tend to be less visible in terms of numbers, they usually present greater problems and emotional trauma. The main conclusions highlight the need to offer more residential resources for women and the importance of flexible and individualised prevention and follow-up. This should involve establishing relationships of trust and support between professionals and users, as well as the creation of women's groups in order to strengthen their relational bonds. Furthermore, a consensus is needed on the definition and measurement of female homelessness, as well as a political commitment that promotes the creation of strategies for the care of homeless women. Keywords: homelessness; homeless women; social inclusion; social intervention; gender perspective.
