Electroanalytical properties of the sams of quinone derivatized calix[4]arene carboxylic acids on silver electrode

摘要
Water-soluble redox-active calix[4]arenes with carboxylic groups were prepared and spontaneous adsorption on silver surface was observed. Due to the novel structure, the calix[4]arenes exhibited selective affinity towards calcium ion in aqueous media. When the annular ionophores were immobilized on the surface, voltammetric and spectroscopic studies showed the entrapment of calcium ion. And it is possible to capture and remove the ion reversibly using strong chelating agents such as ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA).
