TECHNOLOGY AND EDUCATION: TOOLS OF POWER IN THE ASSURANCE OF THE MODERN STATE

We present a discussion about power as a form of domination and as a primordial and essential element in the making of the State. We seek to establish a dialogue between classical authors who discuss the state and its relations of domination, inserting in this discussion the technologies as an instrument of power, associated mainly to the media as opinion formers of the mass society. We discuss the political power and constitution of the modern State and, in the end, we discuss the importance of 'leading society to emancipation', an education that enables thinking and critical humans, not just simple task executors or users of these technologies, submissive to the extreme to the power of those who hold it facing the alienation power that can be ignited by the media.
