Power-law-alterable SF Networks' Cascading Invulnerability Under Intentional Attack

摘要
Cascading failures are common in most of the real-world networks, if occurred may cause destructive results. In this paper the cascading invulnerability of a class of scale-free network with an alterable power-law exponent is researched, in which the cascading failure is triggered by intentionally attacking the node of the largest load. The simulation results show that the cascading invulnerability of scale-free networks is positively related to power-law exponent gamma and mean degree < k >, as gamma and < k > are high correlative with the homogeneousness and sparseness of a network, so the more homogenous and sparse a network is, the more invulnerable it is to resist cascading failures.
