摘要
Quantum-size confinement of excitons in CuBr nanocrystals embedded in polymethyl methacrylate has been studied. Both the absorption band and the photoluminescence (PL) band of the Z(1.2) free excitons in the nanocrystals show a blue-shift due to a quantum-size effect, and the Stokes shift of the PL band becomes larger with decrease in the nanocrystal size at 77 K. These blue-shifts are interpreted by application of size quantization in the exciton dispersion on the basis of Cho's k-linear theory.
