The inverse power method for calculation of multiplication factors

摘要
Standard numerical procedures for calculating multiplication factors in neutron transport problems involve a power method iterative approach. In the present investigation, an inverse power method is examined for calculation of the effective multiplication factor. If a good estimate of the effective multiplication factor is available, then the inverse power method can be significantly faster than standard procedures. The inverse power method is computationally compared to the power method for several one-group one-dimensional problems. However, it is shown that the method can be extended to multigroup multidimensional problems. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
