摘要：
Combination of spaceborne synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) images and advanced very-high-resolution radiometer (AVHRR) images is shown to improve quantitative interpretation of the radar imaging mechanisms for the ocean surface. This in turn leads to more complete understanding of complex geophysical processes in the marine environment. We examine two case studies: first, the structure of horizontal roll vortices in the atmospheric boundary layer; and second, features of mesoscale coastal ocean circulation.
