The water and oil repellent principle of fabrics and the selection of water-and-oil-repellent finishing agents are discussed in this paper. Wool/polyester fabric was finished by water and oil repellence through orthogonal test. The Optimum process has been investigated and Under the Optimum process the water repellency, and oil repellency of the fabric were greatly improved. The study shows that the water and oil repellency of the wool/polyester fabric finished with the compound of nanoTiO(2) and organic fluorine were much better than those with nanometer material or organic fluorine individually. The water repellency, and oil repellency of the fabric finished with the Compound were greatly improved respectively according to Standards, AATCC-22, and AATCC-11, and had a high durability to washing and dry-cleaning. The change of the fabrics' strength and weight before and after the finishing are tested. In addition, the fabrics finished have good crease recovery according to the standard GB/T3819-1997. The influence of the proportion of organic fluorine, nanoTiO(2), and cross linker on the effect of finishing is very great.
