A quality of service protocol for mobile ad hoc networks

摘要
A mobile ad hoc net or MANE is a collection of mobile nodes here each node is free to move about arbitrarily. The Ad hoc On-Demand Distance ector AOD routing protocol is one of the ell- no n and efficient on-demand MANE protocols. AOD currently does not support quality of Service oS and also has no load balancing mechanism. We propose some enhancements to the AOD protocol to provide oS and load balancing features by adding to extensions to the messages used during route discovery. A detailed pac et-layer simulation model is used to study the performance of both the AOD and the oS-AOD protocols. Important performance measures such as average delay, pac et delivery fraction and normalised routing load are used in the comparison. Simulations are presented for net or s with 50 mobile nodes with different net or loads, delay constraints, topological rate of change and mobility speeds.
