摘要
In the studies of quality of life, environmental quality and socioeconomic level constitute dimensions of well-being of the population and are integrated into complex indexes. However, the question is to what extent and how articulate both dimensions in urban environments, where the population settlement patterns respond to a complex pluricausal Web. This article attempts to answer this question from the case of the metropolitan area of Buenos Aires. Environmental quality is studied using a specially designed index for this purpose and the socio-economic level through an indirect indicator (the educational climate of households). The analysis is divided into two parts: the first concerns the study of the dimensions in the jurisdictions that make up the region Metropolitana de Buenos Aires, while the second examines the spatial relationship between them.
