An Empirical Study of Information Literacy of University Students Majoring in Information Management

This paper, based on the questionnaire survey conducted in university students majoring in information management, using factor analysis, developed the scale of information literacy including information evaluation, information searching and information utilization. Then, a description analysis of these factors was presented. The results show that information literacy level of students majoring in information management is not as good as expected. Based on the above analysis, the effects of information literacy on learning performance are analyzed by regression analysis. Information searching is positively associated with learning performance, and information utilization has non-significant effects on learning performance. Finally, some implications are considered for students' information literacy education.
