摘要
In this study, we define tracking as spatio-temporal motion boundary detection. This formulation has several advantages: (1) it leads to a method of lesser complexity, (2) it allows multiple nonsimultaneous motions, (3) it allows tracking of external as well as internal boundaries of objects. The method consists of evolving a surface in spatio-temporal space such that at the end of Its evolution it enfolds the spatiotemporal volume generated by the moving objects. This enfolding surface contains the tracking information. The surface evolution equations are expressed as level-sets partial differential equations, allowing variation in topology.
