Some aspects in the use of Uruguay - Brazil international relations at the time of the 1897 revolution

This article intends to address some of the aspects of the diplomatic relations between the governments of Uruguay and Brazil at the end of the 1890s, as well as the relations with the government and population of Rio Grande do Sul at the time of the beginning of the 1897 revolution, with antecedents in the revolutionary attempt of 1896. Consequently, the interaction between the governments of Uruguay with that of Brazil and specifically that of Rio Grande do Sul will be studied, but the contacts of the latter with the revolutionary elements in Uruguay will also be evaluated, and the sympathies that they counted among part of the population of Brazil.
