Network The existence of the city in a global space

The first part of this text deals with the network-society theory of Manuel Castells. I want to explore his theory as a contribution to understanding the relatively new sources of social exclusion. Second part is devoted to the work and visions of William Mitchell who frequently refers in his books to the Castells' theory. Last part of the text should give an example of the way that the representative bodies of the cities (concretely the city of Brno) accept the metaphor of network in their agenda and statements.
