Non-verbal behavior: towards a methodic scheme (by Anton Lagoon) proceeds from the premise that non-verbal behavior tends to become crucial for any sociological study since students started to deal with hidden aspects of human behavior, to penetrate one's personal psychological sphere, motivations, and values. To know and understand non-verbal behavior is of a special importance for qualitative sociological methods. In particular, non-verbal language is of great significance for focus group interviews. The papers follow up accumulation of knowledge about non-verbal human communications, particularly in qualitative sociology. Results are quoted from a study among scholars, who often use focus group interview method, involving description of non-verbal behavior knowledge levels, and frequencies of using practical methods for making focus groups.
