Numerical investigation on the effect of concrete-FRP bond on the flexural behavior of RC beams

摘要
In the last decade, Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) plates have been successfully used for rehabilitation of reinforced concrete members. Although various experimental investigations have been conducted for assessment of the structural behavior of these members, for considerable cost saving, finite element analysis can be used to provide a valuable supplement to the laboratory investigations, especially in parametric studies. This paper presents the results of a nonlinear three-dimensional finite element analysis in evaluation of the flexural behavior of RC beams strengthened with externally bonded CFRP plates. The effect of interface modeling on the accuracy of results is investigated in this study. Results show that for achieving rational results, the bond between the concrete and FRP plate should be considered in the modeling.
